One of our long serving members hit a milestone for him recently and I couldn’t help but dedicate a blog post for it.

I know many people know this technique already, it has been around for ages! Several different variations have been used such as using Google text ads, Google image ads, Facebook and even Myspace! The trick behind polls is your promoting an e-mail or zip submit and you use a poll topic so you can use unsaturated keywords to drive traffic to your offers.

It looks like as of today my tenure with PPC Coach has come to an end. I was a member of PPC Coach from August 2008 until today. I have both learned a great deal from the members of the site, and I believe they have learned a great deal from me as well. As a PPC Coach moderator I helped teach and train people new to the PPC world and mold them into successful PPC advertisers. It was a volunteer job, it had it’s ups and downs, but it was something!

As many of you know Affiliit opened it’s doors almost 2 weeks ago. While we do not consider ourselves a competitor of PPC Coach, it appears they thought otherwise. PPC Coach primarely trains PPC advertising. Our goal at Affiliate is to teach as many aspects of affiliate marketing as possible. Yes we do teach PPC, but we teach much more such as SEO, Article Marketing, General Webmaster Guidelines and the list goes on.

I’m sure sooner or later the rumors will be starting. To clear them up before they even start – Affiliit is not a copy or competitor of PPC Coach. Affiliit did not steal or attempt to steal any PPC Coach members. Affiliit did not steal or attempt to steal any PPC Coach ideas, tools or material. Then after adding in some tips and tricks, it was an obvious success! The original PPC Mom had to cut back then eventually give up blogging due to – motherhood! Ironic isn’t it?

I know when someone takes over a domain, current readers and subscribers can have a feeling of doubt. Trust me, there is no need for this. Jen, the new PPC Mom stands for everything that Mary (the old PPC Mom) stood for. She has the same characteristics and same passion for helping people. She even has knowledge to help people too!

If your interesting in Affiliate Marketing Training or if your looking for a way to learn affiliate marketing you might want to consider a training/mentoring program. It should not come as a surprise to many that the affiliate marketing industry can be a difficult one to crack. There is loads of competition and most of the competition is well funded. If your new, it certainly can’t hurt to have someone in your corner when facing the heavyweights!

Unfortunately not all advice is good advice. Many of the free information given away on blogs and public forums either isn’t very useful, is very outdated, or is downright wrong. Many bloggers and forum posters will try to sabotage the competition by feeding them false information. Obviously not everyone does this, but some do. You need to find people that you can trust.

Affiliit, Wealthy Affiliate and PPC Coach are all good trustworthy names. I have been a member of the former 2 and I am one of the founders of Affiliit. I know the people that run these programs are top notch. In an affiliate training program it is the goal of the site owners to ensure you succeed, there isn’t any hidden agenda, they want you to succeed. If you succeed they have succeeded.

So how do you go about deciding which training program to join? A good start would be to do a search on them and find out real reviews by real members. Make sure you get the details from real members and not just an affiliate promoting the site. Ask questions on affiliate marketing forums, ask if anyone has experience with the programs. Even go as far as contacting the site owners and ask them what they have that the others don’t. It will be interesting if you get the answers from all of them and compare.

In the end, just do your research, don’t just jump into the first program you see. Make sure you make and informed decision. Remember you are investing in yourself, you need to find the program which is best suited for YOU!

If you’ve been involved in anything you’ll know in some point or time, people will eventually not get along in same shape or form. We see that with many online “gurus” such as Shoemoney and John Chow. Really does anyone have someone personally against them? Possibly, but really there is probably more to the story than that.

So why would someone hate on them?

There are a few reasons, one of the big ones would be jealousy. People tend to hate on what they don’t have. I know many people hate on them because they run “affiliate marketing blogs” and 90% of there posts are not affiliate marketing based, they are either personal or sponsored posts. Another big one is like I previously mentioned sponsored posts, it just seems to erk people and bug them the wrong way sometimes, however that is there business, this is how they decide to make money so obviously they are going to try to scale it up as much as possible. This leads into the next point, Shoemoney and John Chow try to get EVERYTHING they can get out of there readers. Not only do readers see many ads and sponsored posts, they will occasional see pop-up windows, peel-away ads and footer ads trying to get your e-mail address! Again this is nothing personal, just another way they do business trying to get as much as they possible can. Some people don’t mind this, others dislike it.

It’s not often I will post about a product or service. Affiliit is the odd exception!

Recently I started thinking why do most people start blogging. I for one never really got into it until recently. Honestly – at first I found it kind of stupid. But after a while seeing all of these affiliate marketing blogs, I honestly wanted to just express myself. I wanted to express my failures, my successes and everything else.

Why? I’m not really sure. I can’t explain it, I really don’t know.

I know I have been slacking with my posts recently. Will I keep it up and pound out more and more content? I have no idea. Only time will tell.
